Dr Daniel Donner Awarded Medical Science Alumnus of the Year

The Griffith Health Outstanding Alumni Awards recognise the remarkable achievements and successes of alumni who have gained Australian and international recognition, not only for academic and professional accomplishments but for altruistic pursuits in keeping with Griffith University’s commitment to improving health and well-being at home and abroad.

On December 2nd 2016, Dr Dan Donner was invited to the Gold Coast Health and Medical Research Conference to be celebrated as this year’s School of Medical Science Alumnus of the Year. Here he was recognised for his contributions to Australian Healthcare through his company World Orthopaedic (formerly SkyGen Orthopaedic), an agency dedicated to professionally coordinating knee and hip surgery overseas for Australian patients.

“Dan graduated with a Masters in Medical Research in 2010 and PhD in 2015. He co-founded SkyGen a free dedicated service for uninsured orthopaedic patients in Australia and New Zealand; featured in the media for the company’s success in slowing the public surgery waiting lists.” – Professor Anthony Perkins
